What do you do when you realize your plans and God's plans aren't the same thing? Because that's exactly where Peter lands in Mark 8. He finally gets it right by calling Jesus the Messiah. And then Jesus tells him what that actually means: suffering, rejection, and death. Peter can't handle it, so he pulls Jesus aside and basically tells God he's wrong.
Jesus doesn't let that slide. "Get behind me, Satan," he says. Because sometimes the biggest obstacle to following Jesus isn't unbelief — it's holding onto our own good plans a little too tight.
