More One in the One-Three

The year one-three has begun and our second One Family event of the 2012-2013 ministry year, the Chili Bowl, returns on the last Sunday evening of this month, January 27. Because we now alternate between the Chili Bowl and the annual Church of the Valley "Adoration" worship event (both events can only happen on the last Sunday in January), it's been two years since our last Chili Bowl and we're very hungry for it! (Pun intended.) Tasting and judging the chili contest entries is always great fun, but all that surrounds that—the interactive contests, a special kids' gathering, final chili judging by members of the OSU football team, a testimony from an athlete, and (best of all) getting to know others in our Northwest Hills family—makes this event truly exceptional. So come on out for the Chili Bowl, and bring your family and friends with you for another great One Family event.

January is also an opportune time to connect or re-connect with one of our One Family groups. We have plenty of them, and most all are open to sample and join at any time. As we start this new year, the choices include six adult interaction groups, three men’s Bible studies, two women’s Bible studies (both beginning a new winter/spring study in the Bible book of I Corinthians), and HOME (a weekly group for mothers of young children). About twenty home-based Community Groups have also formed since the middle of last fall, and we anticipate that more Community Groups will form this winter and spring. (Contact Pastor Josh about joining or forming one of these groups.) Additionally, our seven-week small group course, Managing Our Finances God’s Way, will begin January 13, and it’s open to all comers. Over the last few years, the content of this course has been life-transforming for many, but new connections with others in our Northwest Hills family are always an additional blessing of participating in this class.

As always, we’re one family, pursuing one passion, reaching out to all people.

More one in the year one-three!

(And more all people too!)
